March Favourites

March is a month I look forward to because it means spring (aka pre-turnup for summer) and Easter are right around the corner. There are of course the not so exciting aspects: snow melting = slushy ground, daylight savings which means giving up an hour of precious sleep, and the fact that we are 25% through 2017 and we’re not so sure of what exactly we’ve all accomplished … but we’ll steady keep it positive and focus on the bright and beautiful things!

I’m very excited nevertheless because its almost the end of 3RD YEAR (uni-wise that is). This time is usually interspersed with end of year dinners with different on-campus associations, birthday dinners and fashion shows. This April I’ll be working (MUA) at two different fashion/beauty shows in my city (more on those in a future post), and hopefully I will be able to post more about what I’m wearing to some of the events (also more in future post).

Before I continue to ramble, here are a couple of items, both new and old, that have seen quite a bit of use this month – also peep Tootsie my wooden turtle chilling in the background!

1. Tory Burch Love Relentlessly Perfume

I picked this up after a particularly stressful week of exams mid-semester and it has definitely become one of my favourite fragrances. The scent is very fruity and perfect to wear for spring although  it can be overpowering if you use too much. I also do not use this every day, I like to switch it up with a simple body mist, or my B by Baleciaga.

2. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz

This product is one of those that constantly drifts between my personal makeup collection and my professional kit (the applicator is a pump so it’s all good). I mix it with any foundation I use on my skin, although if I’ve known the Skin Perfector to be used on its own as a sort of moisturizer. With my clients, its a good way to add heavenly glow (because why not?) to the face or for lighter complexions, it can create a tanned/sun-kissed look. Definitely a must-have for the upcoming warmer months!

3. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Amande

I believe every makeup enthusiast and their mother will agree that NARS dun saved us all with this here concealer. I’m yet to come across a bad review about this product and it definitely lives up to the hype. The doe-foot applicator is ideal for under-eye or spot concealing, and the formula provides medium coverage that is certainly buildable. Another plus is that you do not need a setting powder, a light face powder at most if you wish. Fun fact: this was my one go-to product for my week in Guatemala earlier in February and it definitely took the heat well.

4. Koko Lashes

These lashes are basically the glam of HUDA lashes without the stressful price tag. I purchased Amore (bottom right), Diva (bottom left), Goddess (top left) and Queen B (top right) from LadyMoss. Although the lash band is thicker than your average invisible lash band, I believe this makes them more durable and reusable. And let’s not forget they are super affordable!

5. Hourglass Ambient Lighting

My last pick is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer which I picked up around Christmas time. I love it because it gives a subtle yet striking highlight to dark skin, plus it is not your average crumbly highlighter. As you can imagine, I have been wearing this since December 2016, and till this day, it is number one for my everyday wear. This is also a ideal as a bronzing powder for lighter skin tones (let’s not forget Hourglass packaging is OUT of this world).

That is all for now, I will see you in my next post!

xo.
